7-Zone Mattress: What Does It Mean, and Why Is Proper Support Important?

What Does a 7-Zone Mattress Mean?
Not every part of the body places the same amount of pressure on a mattress. Why Is Targeted Support Important?

The shoulders, for example, may need more room to sink naturally into the mattress, particularly when sleeping on your side. The lower back, on the other hand, may require firmer support. 7-Zone PU Foam Layer for Stable Support
The foundation of the mattress is an 18 cm thick, 7-zone PU foam layer. Its specialised design provides targeted support for different areas of the body. The breathable structure of the mattress also supports continuous airflow, contributing to a fresher and more comfortable sleeping environment.
Visco Memory Foam for Body-Contouring Comfort
The 7-zone base layer is complemented by 2 cm of Visco memory foam. This body-contouring material adapts to the shape of the body and helps distribute pressure more evenly.
The Visco memory foam used in the Richter mattress has an open-cell structure that promotes airflow within the mattress. This layer therefore contributes to both comfort and support.
Gel Foam and Coolmax® for a More Comfortable Sleep Climate
Effective heat and moisture management also plays an important role in sleeping comfort. One side of the cover features a 1 cm gel foam layer, providing additional comfort and a pleasantly cool feel. Combined with the memory foam, the gel foam helps create a comfortable sleeping surface. The Coolmax® fibres used in the cover help wick away moisture and excess body heat. Their high breathability and quick-drying properties contribute to a fresher and drier sleeping environment.
Four Comfort Levels in One Mattress
One of the distinctive features of the Richter sleep system is its versatility. The mattress consists of two different layers, while the special cover also has two different sides. By combining the layers and cover in different ways, four different comfort levels can be created. The design offers firm, medium-firm, medium-soft and soft sleeping surfaces, allowing the comfort level of the mattress to be better adapted to individual preferences.
Hygiene Is an Important Part of Comfort
Easy cleaning is another important consideration when using a mattress over the long term. The cover of the Richter mattress can be unzipped and machine washed at temperatures of up to 60°C. Regular cleaning helps keep the cover fresh and hygienic. The product also has OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification. This certification relates to the testing of materials for harmful substances and may therefore provide an additional consideration when choosing a mattress.
